Turf varieties grown by us are:

Winter Green Couch

A very hardy variety of the couch family good for high traffic areas around the house, dark green in colour and a strong thatch makes it a hardwearing durable low maintenance lawn that maintains its colour all year round.

Shade Master Buffalo

This is a soft leaf buffalo and suitable for all conditions. This grass grows well in full sun and equally as good in shady areas (under trees and shrubs and around eves of houses where other grasses may die off). It has good frost tolerance and maintains good colour in the leaf in times of extremely hot weather. We say this is the ultimate lawn.

Green Lees Park Couch

One of the earlier breeds of the Green Couch family. A vigorous grower and hardy variety.

Kikuyu

Originally from South Africa, is good for covering larger areas of ground in a short period of time, not unlike buffalo it too has a broad soft leaf, large thick runners under the leafy canopy. It is mainly used in higher altitude areas like Tamborine Mountain, Terranora for example, but performs well on lower areas where a tough robust thatch is required for example schools, horse tracks and erosion control.
